UPSEE Seat Allotment 2020
Seat Allotment is the process in which the candidates who have achieved merit in the entrance exam will get a seat in the list of colleges which come under the university on the basis of their preferences. UPSEE Seat Allotment is conducted by the Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The result of the seat allotment will be uploaded by the university on the official website after each round of counseling. A total of four rounds of counseling are conducted and two spot rounds. Seat Allotment of UPSEE is a very integral part of the admission process as this is the part where the students get the college seat which they have always desired.
The seat allotment will be done online only and the students have to register for the allotment process to be completed. The factors which play a vital role in the allotment of seat to the students is the rank achieved, preference of college and the number of seats that are available for admission. After the candidates are satisfied with the result of seat allotment then they have to pay the fees for confirming the admission and then the students have to report to their respective colleges for document verification. The aspirants should be very careful during the seat allotment process and the counseling rounds as they should carefully submit the choice of college and course according to the ones which they really want to take admission in.
The official authorities of the university take the preference selected by the candidates very seriously and allotment is done to the candidate according to that. The students should refer to the cut off list of the various colleges to understand which college will accept the rank which they have achieved. If a student rank falls into the rank category of the college then only they should select the particular college. During the first round of the couselling if a candidate does not get the desired college then they should not worry and should proceed to the next round of counseling as the chances of getting the higher rank college is possible in the second round.

- On the page, the students will find a link of seat allotment which they have to click on.
- When the page opens the login credential needs to filled by the candidates which include the roll number and the password.
- In the portal that opens up, the students will find the seat allotment status. It is advised to students to download the page and keep it safe with them for future use.
When the student receives the desired seat and he is happy with the seat allotment result then he has to accept the seat. If the candidate is not happy with the result then he can go further in the rounds of counseling or he even has the option of opting out of the counseling process. After the seat allotment is done it is very important that the student accepts or rejects the offer.
The options which the candidates get after the seat allotment are Freezing, Floating and Withdrawl. The student should choose the freezing option if he wants to accept admission to the college which he has been given to him. Students should check twice before selecting the freeze option as they are accepting the admission and this choice won't get changed in the future. The floating option is selected by the students when they want to go to the other rounds of counseling and are not satisfied with the choice provided to them.
In floating the choice of college gets upgraded and they mostly get the college of their choice only if their rank matches the college accepting rank criteria. The withdrawal option should be selected by the students only when they are sure that they don't want any seat to be alloted to them and they don’t wish to participate in the counseling process anymore. The choices provided by the university for the students are very simple and the students should be extremly careful before selecting choice.
Merit List of UPSEE
The merit list is the list that has the ranks of the candidates developed according to the marks secured by the candidates. After the declaration of results, the university publishes the Rank List of UPSEE on the website. Only the students who have passed the entrance exam will have their name mentioned in the merit list according to the ranks secured by them. Merit has the roll number of the candidate and the rank secured by him. The category of the student and the marks which he scored in UPSEE will be the two determinants on the basis of which the merit list is prepared.
The ranks provided in this list will be required in the admission process and the allotment of the colleges. There are many chances that two or more students get the same rank then the university follows a tie-breaking method to give the ranks. The determinants which are followed in the tie-breaking method are that the candidate with the less incorrect answers will be given the higher rank, if there is still a tie then the one who has highest marks in total of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will get a higher rank and even if tie is there then the student which is older will get the high rank.
Counseling of UPSEE
The candidates who wish to get admission in the AKTU have to register in the admission counseling process. The tentative date of the counseling process will be commenced in the third week of June 2020. Payment of the counseling fees is mandatory for the students to go further in the counseling rounds which is done in the online mode. In the registration, the students have to fill all the information that is required.
Verification of documents is done online itself and the students have to upload the documents. It is important that the students have all the soft copies of the documents to the uploaded ready beforehand so that they can be uploaded on the website. The students should note the document file size which is accepted so that while uploading the documents it should be under the size mentioned.
Once the verification of documents is done then the students are allowed to select the choice of colleges and the course. To increase the chances of allotment the candidates should select the maximum number of choices. While setting the preferences of the colleges the students should put the most favored institute in the first position and then accordingly they should place the others.
Final Stage of Allotment
When the students freeze the final choice of college then they have to make the seat acceptance fees online itself. For different categories, there is a different amount to be paid such as for General/OBC category INR 20,000 has to paid and for SC/ST INR 12,000 has to be paid. While making the payment the students must ensure that the internet connection is strong as with a weak connection the chances of the payment getting not processed completely are possible.
The students should submit the payment before the specified date as mentioned on the official website. To bring the admission process to an end the students have to report to the colleges which they have received at the time of counseling. The colleges communicate the day and the reporting time at which the students have to be present at the college. It is very important to be present on this day as the admission gets confirmed. The students should keep a note of the important dates so that they don’t forget them and incur any loss because of it.
Payment of the remaining fees will be done in the college itself and the students also have to bring the documents along for verification. It is very important that the candidates bring all the required documents and the fees to be submitted to the college on time otherwise their admission would be canceled. Candidates should keep in mind that they should only present the documents which are not false as document checking will be done strictly by the university.
These were the important points which the students should follow to understand the nitty-gritty of seat allotment of UPSEE. It is an important part of the admission and students should follow every step with many precautions so that they don’t face any issue and get the admission smoothly.
