UPSEE Counselling 2020
Counseling of UPSEE is a major step in the admission process. After all the trials and tribulations, the students reach the counseling round by successfully completing all the previous steps. To fill the counseling preferences the students have to visit the official website. The counseling procedure is conducted online only. The UPSEE 2020 is going to be conducted in the third week of April and the result of UPSEE will be declared in the first week of June. Colleges accepting UPSEE Score are the ones who come under the university.
The Merit List of UPSEE is the list on which the counseling process gets commenced. In the counseling process, the students need to fill in their college of preference from the total list of colleges that come under the Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University. The UPSEE 2020 Counselling only gets commenced after the merit list and the result list gets published and there are three rounds in this process. For the UPSEE aspirants, counseling is the most integral part of the admission process. This the part where their college of choice is allotted to them and their college seat gets a confirmation.
UPSEE Counselling
The entitled students who have got good ranks in the merit list get a chance to participate in the counseling process. The important point which the students should keep in mind is that the counseling fees which they submit online is non-refundable therefore they should carefully fill the choice of course and college. Aspirants need to register for the counseling process and will start approximately in the last week of June.
The university will conduct four rounds of counseling and two spot rounds After each round of counseling is completed a new cut off list will get published. When the students fill their choice of college, then according to their rank they get the college allotted, after this, the students have to lock their college which they have received. If the student is not happy with the allotted college and wants to go further in the admission process then he can pay the counseling fee in the first round and then wait for the next round of counseling.
Document checking is also done during the counseling process. The students should give only correct documents for verification because if any document is caught to be fraud then the admission for that particular student would be canceled.

How to Participate in UPSEE Counselling?
The following are the steps that the students have to follow while doing the counseling process. To be a part of the UPSEE 2020 Counselling process it is important that the candidates have gained merit in the entrance exam. Getting a high rank is very important in this entrance exam as only on the basis of ranks the colleges would be provided. The students can find below the step by step procedure for participating in the counseling process.
- The first step is to register on the official website for the counseling process to be commenced. For registration, the students have to enter their roll number, application number, father’s name and date of birth. After the completion of the registration, the students have to upload the documents which are asked on the website. It is important to keep all the soft copies of the documents ready to be uploaded on the website or the process might get delayed. After this, the students have to pay the counseling fee online itself and the fees is nonrefundable. - In the second step, the verification of documents needs to be done which is completed online itself. When the candidate submits the document then he will receive an OTP on his registered mobile number. This OTP would be required by the candidates to be filled at the time of login and choice filling. - UPSEE 2020 admit card
- 10th and 12th standard certificate and mark sheet
- Domicile certificate
- Parent’s domicile certificate (if the candidate has passed qualifying exam outside Uttar Pradesh)
- Rural weightage certificate (if applicable)
- Character certificate
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Subcategory certificate for freedom fighters/armed forces/physically handicapped (as applicable)
- Certificate of medical fitness/undertaking of medical fitness
- Income certificate for economically weak candidates
- GDDA category certificate (if applicable)
- Other required documents
- With the completion of the document verification process, the filling of choice of college and course starts. Candidates have to log in to the official website for the choice filling. Candidates will now find a list of colleges to choose from and the courses. They have to fill in their choice carefully and they should choose as many colleges as they want according to their preferences so that during allotment the official authorities will come to know the list of preferences of the student and colleges would be allotted keeping the list in mind. Before locking of choices it is advised to the students that they reconsider their choices and only confirm when they are fully sure because they won’t get a chance to change their preferences.
- On the website itself, the university will release the allotment result which the students can view by entering their login details. The factor which affects the seat allotment process is given as follows.
- Preferences of colleges selected by the students is considered while allotting colleges.
- The marks which the students achieved in the exam.
- The number of seats available in a college also determine whether a college is allotted to a student or not.
After the seat allotment schedule is given to the students they have to confirm the seat if they want to take admission. The following are the three options which the students get to choose from after allotment.
- If a student wants to take admission in the college provided to them then they have to select the freeze option to confirm the choice. It is very important to freeze the seat as if they don’t do it then they won't get the college seat.
- If a candidate wants to move further in the counseling process as they are not happy with the college provided to them then they have to select the float option.
- If a candidate does not want to go further in the process then they have to choose the withdrawal option. This option is selected by the students only if they don't like the allotted colleges and they don't want to participate in online counseling anymore.
- Confirmation of the admission process will be done only when the candidates report to the colleges allotted to them after they have freezed the seat. Colleges will inform the reporting dates to the students well in advance and they have to report. Failure to confirm the allotted seat can lead to cancellation of admission so it is very important that the students give confirmation.
UPSEE Spot Round
Filling of vacant seats is done by the university through the spot round after the rounds of counseling process gets completed. Through the offline mode, the university conducts two spot rounds. The candidates who wish to participate in the spot round of counseling have to complete the registration process. The document verification is done offline for the spot round and the candidates have to be present at the venue. With the documents, the students have to submit a demand draft of INR 70,000 in the name of Finance Officer, AKTU which is to be paid at Lucknow. The ranks achieved by the students would be taken into consideration for the spot counseling.
There is a separate list of eligibility criteria that needs to be fulfilled by the students for the spot rounds which is given as follows.
- Only the candidates who have not been provided a seat in the previous round of counseling can participate in the spot round.
- Those candidates can also participate in counseling rounds who got a seat allotted to them but they did not freeze the seat.
- Also, the candidates who got qualified in the UPSEE Merit List but due to some issues, they could not participate in the counseling process.
