CBSE NEET 2020 – Everything You Need to Know

As we all know that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from this year. Candidates were able to register themselves for NEET UG till 1st week of December. Because of change in examination authority, candidates might be struggling with questions like which is better NEET or AIPMT? Is NEET online or offline? and many more. However, this year, the examination authority has also removed the upper age limit for candidates applying for this examination. NEET examination is conducted for Medical aspirants for admission to Medical and Dental colleges approved by MCI across India. CBSE NEET 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on May 5 in one slot in offline mode. While filling the application form of NEET exam 2020, candidates must be ready with scanned copies of their passport sized photograph and signature. To fill the application form of NEET UG 2020, candidates have to follow the steps given below:

  1. Registration – This is the foremost step while applying for NEET. In this step candidates have to register themselves by entering their personal details along with mobile no. and email id. On successful registration, candidates will be given provisional NEET application number which will be used for further login purpose.
  2. Filling up of application form – While filling the NEET UG application form, candidates have to enter their personal details, medium of examination, academic qualification details etc.
  3. Review and Final submission of NEET form – In this part, candidates have to review the details entered by them in the application form.
  4. Uploading of documents – Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of their passport sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  5. Payment of application fee – Candidates can pay the requisite amount of application fee either online using Debit/ Credit Cards/ Net Banking or offline through SBI e-challan.
  6. Printing of the confirmation page – In this step, candidates have to download the confirmation page and take a print out of the same and keep it safe for future references.

NEET 2020 Admit Card

Candidates who have filled the application form of NEET successfully will be able to download the admit card of the same from April 15, 2020. NTA will release the admit card only in the online mode i.e. on its official website and candidates will be able to download their admit cards by logging themselves using their application number and password.

Minimum & Maximum Age
  • A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
  • The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years as on the date of examination under NEET eligibility with relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST category.

  • Non Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs)
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
  • Foreign Nationals
Academic Qualification
There are 7 eligibility codes in total. A student is required to select any 1 of them. Different codes are for different situations. Before applying for NEET exam, read all 7 codes properly.

Candidates are required to download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given. Candidate may please note that admit cards will not be sent by post. When a candidate downloads the NEET Admit Card 2020, a copy of the same in pdf format is also emailed to the candidate on the registered email id. The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her.

CBSE will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET (UG) – 2020 on the basis of the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained:

The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

Points to Remember
  • CBSE will conduct the NEET (UG)–2020, evaluate the Answer Sheets and the result will be hosted on website cbseneet.nic.in.
  • The CBSE will prepare the merit list as per the directives of, DGHS, MCI and DCI.
  • No category wise result sheet will be prepared. As soon as the result is ready, CBSE will host the results on the website and thereafter candidates may download the Result Sheets.
  • All Candidates appearing in NEET (UG)–2020 must remain in touch with the websites of CBSE, MOHFW, Medical Counselling Committee (www.mcc.nic.in) and Participating States/Universities/ Institutions till conclusion of final round of Counselling.
